If you’re heading to Ibiza on holiday and fancy some cycling out there I recommend using Ibiza Sport, located in San Antonio. I recently spent time with them over two days riding both road and mtb using their bikes and guides. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I will be sure to visit them again. Read my review below…

Bike Hire – Ibiza Sport offers a range of Road, Mountain and Hybrid bikes in a range of sizes and materials including Aluminum and Carbon.

The prices are very reasonable from 16 Euros per day to 35 Euros per day depending on make and model. Included in the price are pedals, pump, water bottles and saddle bag.

The bikes I hired were a MMR Aluminium road bike and then a MMR 29er mountain bike. Both bikes were spot on and rode as new. The wheels spun true, brakes were good and the gears shifted with ease.

Guided Rides – I had two guided rides with Ibiza sport. My first ride was a 42 mile road ride which I thoroughly enjoyed. I met my guide (Vicent) at the Ibiza Sport shop just before 9.30am and off we went. He spoke good english and was easy to get on with. The pace was good and he would ask if I wanted to go any faster or slower. Vicent took us on a great route where the roads were smooth with very little traffic and a few climbs to keep things interesting.

My second guided ride was a 22 mile mountain bike ride. My guide was Boris and again he spoke very good English and was easy to get on with. He shared lot’s of information about the local areas and landscapes we passed.

The route was very good with a bit of climbing to start with and then a long technical descent. The MMR bike held up well and got me down in one piece. We then went along the coast, “oh, it’ll be nice and easy along the coast” I thought, but I was wrong. It was hard work with lots of rocks and drops to contend with but it was enjoyable at the same time. Mountain biking isn’t meant to be easy after all!

Accommodation – Along with the bike hire and guides, Ibiza Sport is attached to and part of the Florencio Hostal. It offers nice and tidy accommodation close to the beach and shops and is ideal for cyclists as bikes can be hired and stored next door in Ibiza Sport safely.

Facilities include bar, restaurant, swimming pool, pool bar and an outside terrace.

On Tripadvisor it has good reviews and is rated 36th out of 105 hotels in San Antonio. Check it out here.
